My Weekend...

Saturday afternoon I went to Boone Hall Plantation and met Jaime, her mom, and her sister for Jamie's bridal session. I had a great time, and we got lots of fabulous shots...but you'll have to wait until March (for the wedding) to see them! In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures from Boone Hall...

Some ironwork on the gate at the plantation house...

Afterwards, I stopped by Starbucks and met Josie and Cooper so we could snap a few pictures of them before they went to the big Prudential party. When I first moved to Charleston, Josie and I taught school together at Memminger Elementary downtown. Cooper is a real estate agent with Prudential Carolina, so if you're in the market for a home, be sure to look him up!

Brian in Djibouti

My husband is in Djibouti, Africa for a few months and recently sent me some pics that I thought I would share. Many of my clients know him since he sometimes 2nd shoots. In case you don't know him...this is Brian. Isn't he cute? :)

He is the sweetest and recently started volunteering to help teenagers learn English when he has time away from work.

These teenagers voluntarily come to learn English from 7-10 in the evening after a full day at school.

Girls' Weekend in Savannah

My friend Liz and I went to Savannah for a girls' weekend. Our first stop was at the Mansion. This restored Victorian mansion is so awesome that I made Liz model for me! :)

...and a shot of me. Then the camera broke! :)

Saturday morning we got up bright and early to go wait in line to get a seating time for The Lady & Sons. Not that I don't think Paula is fabulous -but because I am from south Georgia (and grew up on southern cooking), I wasn't that excited about going to the restaurant to eat. But I have to tell you - I was impressed. The food was delicious, and I would give anything to have one of their delicious cheese and garlic biscuits right now!

This is Liz ringing the dinner bell - Come and get it!

My mama and her friend Mona were also having a girls' weekend with a group staying on Tybee for the Savannah Breeze weekend. If you are a fan of Mary Kay Andrews' books, you should check it out! All of the ladies who went were walking around town in hot pink boas. Needless to say, it was not hard to spot my mama when she came walking in Lady & Sons to say hi!

Liz and I were so surprised to win the Ms. Savannah Breeze contest - it was a tie! Well...not really. We didn't actually enter, and we didn't actually win. But we did stand in front of the sign! :) ha

And the winner was....not my mama either. But she did look cute in front of the sign, don't you think?

Savannah was loads of fun. We had a delicious dinner at Sapphire Grill Saturday night. And of course Sunday morning we had to go to Huey's for some delicious beignets.

On the way back to Charleston we stopped by the Old Sheldon Church Ruins.

In 1779, when the British General Augustine Prevost invaded the Lowcountry, the church was burned by a detachment which according to tradition, was commanded by the flamboyant local Tory, Andrew Deveaux. Rebuilt in 1826, the church was again burned by Sherman's men in 1865.

Elizabeth & Greg at Starbucks

Friday morning I had a very quick (about 10-15 minute) session with Elizabeth and Greg at Starbucks. Their wedding is Feb. 3rd, and they needed a shot to use at the reception. We were able to get some cute shots in a really short period of time. I am really looking forward to the wedding! You can see their slideshow here.

...and the photobooth shot! I think Greg will be making everyone laugh on his wedding day - fun!

I love my photographer friends!

I have had so much fun this week with my photographer friends. A group of us get together every month, and Tuesday night we all met at Panera Bread. Nathan is a friend of ours who came down from Chattanooga to show everyone a new online program that he and his wife Amber have created. It is called Photographer's Office and it is incredible - I've already signed up and you should check it out if you want to organize and shorten your workflow! This is a picture of all of us checking it out...

oops...I didn't mean to put my logo on there! This pic is by my friend Robbin Knight!

Nathan gave away a great book, and guess who the lucky winner was??? :)

another oops! This pic was taken by Nathan.

Last night, Ruth, Josie, and I took pictures of each other because we all desperately need new photos on our website! You know...we are used to being on the other side of the lens!

and the last oops...this pic was taken by Ruth.

Now the rest - I really did take! :)
A couple of Ruth...I love her orange jacket!

And a couple of Josie. Josie and I taught school together at Memminger Elementary when I first moved to Charleston. I love this blue wall.

Night Shots of Annie

My friend Ruth Rackley is in town this week and we have had lots of fun hanging out with other photographers, taking pics, etc. this week. Last night we went downtown to play around with outdoor night time shooting. Annie ( a local model) was sweet enough to brave the very cold weather and model for us. You can see her slideshow here...

Stacy & Nick's Kiawah Island Wedding

My friend Lea Dales had a wedding on Kiawah Friday, and since I was free I decided to tag along and help her out. The intimate ceremony was at a beautiful home overlooking the marsh. We had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know their wonderful friends and family members.

There were lots of beautiful red details - including Kailey's cute little flower basket. She did a great job!

Stacy was a beautiful bride...

Nick looks SO much like Ray Ramano. He said he has even gotten quite a few free drinks from people who have mistaken him for Ray Romano!
